FAQ
Who can apply?
Undergraduates, graduate students, or recent dropouts/alumni (at most two years out of school) in NYC. More information on who will most benefit from the accelerator can be found in the Suitability section of the Overview.
What is expected of teams?
All team members are expected to come to every Friday meeting and to spend a significant amount of time on a daily basis working on their startups. Teams are also expected to present during both demo days and actively engage mentors and other teams. Teams are expected to prioritize their startups over other responsibilities such as academics and to meet established milestones.
When will I hear back about my applications?
You will hear back on 2/10 on the status of your written application. We will have interviews for those that advance from the written application stage and final decisions will be sent out on 2/14.
Am I allowed to submit more than one idea?
As long as you have teams in place and minimum viable products for the other ideas. All submissions should be well thought-out and developed.
Can I apply if I've participated in another accelerator/startup program?
Yes.
Are there course credits?
No.
What if I don't have a team?
We highly encourage you to find team members with complementary skill sets who can support each other since a startup can be strenuous on a single person. However, we will still consider your application on a case-by-casis basis.
Is there free coworking space?
We do not offer a 24/7 dedicated coworking space but we can book workspaces at certain times on Columbia's campus with advance notice.
